The picture is probably taken on the deck to M / S Virgo, the Swedish steamers who brought Andrées polar expedition to Danskön in 1896 and 1897. If the man in the picture is Nils Ekholm, the picture must be taken in 1896, because Ekholm skipped the project when the expedition was postponed One year because of northern winds at the starting point on Danish island.
