Rainforest researcher, Borneo. Ecologist Terhi Riutta in the Borneo rainforest. She is holding an infrared CO2 gas analyser which measures CO2 emissions from the soil. Her work is part of a ten year ecological study on the forest known as SAFE (Stability of Altered Forest Ecosystems). SAFE monitors changes in forest ecology as it is progressively logged and turned into palm oil plantations.
