Fatty acid dehydrogenase enzyme, molecular model showing secondary structure. This is short chain 3-hydroxyacyl CoA dehydrogenase (SCHAD). This enzyme is involved in several stages of human fatty acid metabolism, especially the third step of the beta oxidation metabolic pathway. It is also involved in other metabolic pathways. This oxidoreductase protein consists of two chains. It contains 293 amino acids.
