I would like to add that in this case itwas impossible to shield the eye com-pletely, but no bad results followed, noteven a conjunctivitis. This patient hadin all 34 exposures. Case No. 3. D. H., male, age 70,white, one of our workmen. One sisterdied with a growth about the knee whichhad existed five years. Otherwise thefamily history was negative. Four years ago a small papule appearedupon the right lower eyelid. This neverdisappeared, but as fast as a crust wouldform it would be torn off, each time leav-ing the growth a little larger. Duringthe past year it has increased more rap-idly in size. A diagnosis of epitheliomawas made by one of our surgeons, adermatologist, and an opthmologist, and treatment was begun April 26, 1901. At this time an elevated growth withan ulcerating surface occupied one-half. of the central portion of the lower eye-lid. In this case the same technique wasused as before, except that I allowed theinterval to be governed by the effect pro-duced, and varied from one to nine each instance I allowed the inflam-matory reaction to disappear before re-newing the exposure. It was completelyhealed in two months, after nineteen ex-posures, and has remained healthy dur-ing the past two and one-half epithelioma has been replaced byhealthy skin, and a scar not more than1 mm in width, which is freely covers a groove which indicates thesite of previous destruction of the deepertissues. The result obtained in this caseis shown by the photograph taken twomonths after beginning treatment. I have treated three other cases all ofwhich show improvement, but are notyet well. I regret that owing to the fact that thesections made from the cases reportedabove were poorly preserved, the pathol-ogist was unable to make a satis
