An international expedition team of cavers trek through Uzbekistan's Boysuntov Range.

The journey from the roadhead up to the teams intermediate camp was a long, slow and strenuous plod. Constantly gaining altitude, it was made more difficult by the sweltering heat from the sun. To begin with the path remained inside small trees and low bushes but as the team climbed higher and higher, they soon reached an altitude where there was no vegetation and it was just a barren and rocky landscape without any shade from the sun. In a long line, the expedition convoy, carrying rucksacks of personal belongings and also heavily laden donkeys made steady progress, forever getting closer to the Baisun-Tau ridge that loomed large up ahead. The wall of limestone was very rarely out of sight and provided a landmark to aim for. It was constantly encouraging, seeing it getting closer and closer. The main contacts for this expedition were Tonya Votintseva - and Vadim Loginov -
