Brother Mem-mott has served as postmaster, justiceof the peace, and notary public, inScipio. His first wife having died , 1898, he married Catherine HunterMay 30, 1900. WHITE, Charles Dennis, sec-ond president of the Beaver Stake ofZion, was born Sept. 10, 1851, in Lehi,Utah county, Utah, son of Samuel and Mary H. Burton. He re-moved with his parents to Cedar City,Iron county, in 1853, and thence toBeaver, in 1859, where he has residedever since. Here he was baptized, or-dained a Deacon and presided ovei. the Deacons quorum. In 1868, when six-teen years old, he was ordained an El-der, received his endowments and wassent to Laramie, as a Church team-ster, in Capt. John R. Murdocks gom-pany. ^hen a branch of the UnitedOrder was organized in Beaver, BrotherWhite was appointed to take charge ofthe Order teams. In 1877 he was or-dained a High Priest and Bishop andappointed to preside over the BeaverFirst Ward. He acted in that capacityfor ourteen years, or until June 27,1891, when he was chosen and set apartas Elder John R.
