Sebaceous carcinoma of the eyelid, light micrograph of a section of affected skin. It is a rare aggressive skin cancer that commonly occurs around the eye region and often metastasises. This tumor is thought to arise from sebaceous glands in the skin and, thus, may arise anywhere on the body where these glands exist. Histology shows irregular lobules and sheets of atypical sebaceous cells (red). Magnification: x 100 when printed at 10 centimetres wide. Human tissue.
