Low view of 2-nd century Roman Theatre with 6000 seats, on Hashemite Plaza at the foot of Jabal Al-Joufah, Amman, Jordan

The Roman Theatre dates back to 2nd-century Roman Empire. One of the most recognizable landmarks in Amman, which was called Philadelphia back in the Roman days. The vast and steep amphitheater could accommodate around 6,000 visitors. It is built into the hillside and is facing north to keep the sun rays off the spectators.
