The MV Klahowya, an Evergreen State Class ferry, in a floating dry dock in the Port of Seattle, undergong repairs. The Lake Union Dry Dock Company is a marine vessel large-scale dry dock and repair operation in Seattle's Eastlake district. It is located near ZymoGenetics, directly across from the Bill And Melinda Gates Foundation. It currently operates two large-scale submersible floating dry docks, as well as numerous shipbuilding and repair facilities, all of which are located on the water The MV Klahowya is an Evergreen State Class ferry operated by Washington State Ferries. The Evergreen State Class ferries were built by the Puget Sound Dredge and Bridge Company for Washington State Ferries beginning in 1953. This class was the first built after the state agency was created in 1951. Each Evergreen State class ferry can carry 100 cars and 1000 passengers.
