Ordinary coil usedto produce induced current which passed to a metronome having ad-justable time inter^/al contacts, thence to electrodes on period of contraction, muscle was given shock eveiy 4 1/2seconds for 5 minutes, then allowed to rest for 5 min., Sec. Each shock was slightly prolonged the fraction of a seCTond through the slow action ofthe mercury contacts in the metronome
