Bell as manager of the up- town establishment of J. J. Haber- mehl's Sons. Berger Bros, are receiving superb lo- cally grown peonies. The first spring show of the Pennsyl- vania Horticultural Society was held in Masonic hall, Ardmore, May 24. Peren- nials, columbines, iris and floral deco- rations formed the display. Charles Durand has returned to J. J. Habermehl's Sons. William C. Lynch, manager of the Philadelphia Growers' Cut Flower Co., who was in an automobile accident re- cently, has happily recovered and is at work again. The flower market held for charity in Bittenhouse square on the afternoon of May 19 was a great success. All the fashionable florists contributed plants or flowers or what not, and many of them worked hard to make the affair successful. It was a pretty scene, with the flowers and the grass and the booths and the pretty frocks and the smiling faces. L. E. Manning has succeeded William H. Engler as Philadelphia correspond- ent for the Florists' Exchange. The street believes that one of the secrets of C. U. Liggit's success lies in his thorough knowledge of the supply. Mrs. Drew-Baer, in a straw hat and white dress, worked hard for the flower market.
