Coat of arms of Peter of Luxembourg on the Porter's House - Pijndershuisje (1470) in Bruges, Belgium

The Pijndershuisje (Porter's House), also called Rijkepijndershuisje (Rich Porter's House) is an historic building at the Jan van Eyck Square in Bruges. It is on the left side of the Tolhuis (Toll House). This house has one of the narrowest facades of Bruges. The Porter's House was built in 1470 for the Pynders - the porters that brought the goods to the Toll House. The name "Pynders" refers to the pain that these people suffered carrying the heavy loads. The facade of the Pijndershuisje is illustrated with bent over porters.
