Waltrop, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany - Ship lift and lock park Waltrop. Here a footbridge at the headwater of the disused Old Shaft Lock. The Waltrop Lock Park is the name given to the four descent structures at the junction of the Rhine-Herne Canal with the Dortmund-Ems Canal. The only lift in operation is the New Lock, built between the Old Shaft Lock and the New Lift in 1989.
