(See Page 100.) io8 ACCIDENTS AND EMERGENCIES Bittersweet, Woody Nightshade (Solanum dulcamara) mustnot be confounded with the cultivated plant called woody nightshade is a shrubby, climbing plant, bearing blueor purple flowers, with an orange-colored center, and oval, brightred berries, that are Digitalis. Deadly Nightshade (Atropa belladonna) grows three or fourfeet high, has large, dark green, pointed leaves growing on downystems, with drooping, bell-shaped flowers and blue-black berries(when ripe), marked with a deep furrow. (Fig. 32.) Fools Parsley (^Ethusa cynapium) grows about two feet high,in waste ground, and looks something like ordinary parsley DESCRIPTION or POISONOUS PLANTS 109 (Apium petroselinuin), but has a disagreeable odor. Its leavesare compound and dark green, and its flowers are white. Foxglove (Digitahs) is -a European and Asiatic plant, culti-vated in gardens in various parts of the world.
