Vertical wide angle of the Leaning Tower of Pisa [La Torre di Pisa] against a blue sky.
Vertical wide angle at the Campo dei Miracoli 'Field of Miracles' of tourists at the bottom of La Torre di Pisa 'The Tower of Pisa' or more famously known as the 'Leaning Tower of Pisa' due to it's tilt from the vertical axis. The Leaning Tower of Pisa or simply The Tower of Pisa (La Torre di Pisa) is the campanile 'belltower', and is by far the most famous of the four religious edifices. Although intended to stand vertically, the tower began leaning to the southeast soon after the onset of construction in 1173 due to a poorly laid foundations. In 1990, over concerns about it's stability, work began to correct some of tilt, but it was considered important for tourism that it was not corrected back to it's true vertical.
