Collis Potter Huntington (1821-1900), American industrialist and railway magnate. Huntington is best known for founding the American railroad company Central Pacific railroad with three other merchants from Sacramento, California: Leland Stanford, Mark Hopkins and Charles Crocker. He acted as the company's main political lobbyist on the East Coast and managed financing and purchasing. Painted by Francis Augustus Lathrop: a copy of after William Keith.
