Sharon Kane, from The Grove, Consett will be a 'Protocol Officer' for the London 2012 Olympic football events taking place at St. James' Park, Newcastle. She said, "I'm going to meet and greet the players. I don't know the languages, but I can always give them a hug. " Of the Olympic Torch relay, she commented, "It was really good to see the flame, loved it. We'll never see anything like it again in our lifetime"
