A train owned by Northern rail Pacer no142060 approaches an un-manned level crossing in West Lancashire


Northern rail's DMU 142060 approaches an un-manned level crossing in West Lancashire. The crossing is at the end of Culvert Lane and is known as Ferrett Lane crossing which had been up graded following relaying of the track the train is running on in November 2013. The crossing is about half a mile west of Parbold on the Wigan Wallgate to Southport line and the train is the from Manchester Victoria to Southport. The train is made up of a "Pacer Train" that was designed as a cheap replacement train in the 1970's based on a bus body.
