A Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System-equipped C-130 assigned to the 302nd Airlift Wing approaches a drop during the Forest Service-hosted annual aerial firefighting certification event in Boise, Idaho April 21, 2017. The 302nd supports the Defense Department C-130 MAFFS mission along with three Air National Guard wings. C-130s equipped with Forest Service MAFFS units can drop up to 3,000 gallons of retardant or water to aid in the suppression of wildland fires.
