It is estimated that these sales represent-ed close to 5,000 items. The almost negligible cost, com-paratively speaking, of the electric power to operate theovens for this large number of items may be judged from thefurther fact that the monthly bill of this company is only$75, or about $ per day. There are three ovens in this store with an electrical. of Hughes electric Nut Krust Bakery capacity of IS kw. each. Other electrical equipment includesa 3 kw. water heater, 2 proof boxes of 1 kw. each, a 2 , a 3 motor driving a dough mixer, and an exhaustfan. The three ovens were practically working to capacityon the date mentioned above and during the eight hours theywere in operation turning out the 5,000 items, requiredthe attention of five bakers. So satisfactory has thisequipment proven and so economical in operation that theNut Krust Bakeries are duplicating these ovens in threeother Toronto stores which will be started at the corner ofDanforth and Broadview, at Lansdowne and Bloor and atSt. Clair and Dufferin.
