The flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) buzzes with activity as personnel and aircraft move about during night flight operations in the Pacific Ocean on Aug. 8, 2005. The USS Kitty Hawk Carrier Strike Group and the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) are participating in the third annual Joint Air and Sea Exercise 2005 with the Air Force and Marine Corps in the western Pacific Ocean. The exercise focuses on integrated joint training proficiency in detecting, locating, tracking, and engaging units at sea, in the air, and on land.
