Optical CCD (Charge Coupled Device) image of the spiral galaxy M94 (NGC 4736) which lies 15 million light years away in the constellation of Canes Venatici. M94 has a central white-yellow nucleus, populated by old stars, which is tightly wound by badly defined spiral arms. The arms show little resolution and due to this feature M94 is classified as a Sb galaxy.
