Lt. Gen. Jeffrey Talley, commanding general, Army Reserve Command, tours a vehicle during his visit to Kandahar, Afghanistan, on April 26, 2013. The vehicle is operated by the 993rd Transportation Company located out of Lakeland and Palatka, Fla. The Army Reserve, founded in 1908 as a reserve corps of medical personnel, includes 148 different military occupation specialties and accounts for almost 20 percent of the Army's total force.
