On the same day that these two vessels came in, the Friedland (French line-of-battle ship) was towed down the Bosphorus, minus her helm, which she lost in the same storm which has caused so much damage to the vessels of the Allies. Not having a rudder, it was very difficult for the steamer to tow her, and she swayed now towards one shore, and then towards the other, like a drunken man'. From "Illustrated London News", 1854.
