This ansesthesia lasts from one to three hours, so that evenextensive Operations can be performed without Sensation on the part of the patient. There is no doubt something very attractive about this procedure. In the firstcase in which we employed this method we did not let our students into the secret ofthe injection, and performed an excision of the ankle, which was very much inflamed,.
