Monroe, who has been in charge of the exposition nursery, has been ap- pointed salesman of the stock to be re- moved from the grounds. He will have a vast amount of material to dispose of and it will probably take a good while to clean it all up. Mr. Monroe was for- merly one of the Golden Gate park force. During the closed day of the Cali- fornia Flower Market, C. Kooyman, whose store is over the market, had the distribution of a large part of the day's cut of carnations. However, he handled only the better grades, the cheaper stock being discarded. Burns & Co., of San Bafael, have given the name Alaska to their new white seedling dahlia, mentioned in The Eeview a few weeks ago. F. Pelicano says his dahlia crop is all over. He will soon begin digging the bulbs, of which he has sold a much larger number than usual. The famous Liberty Bell left San Francisco as it came in, bedded in flowers, and the flowers were furnished on both occasions by Pelicano, Eossi & Co. The decoration for the depar- ture, November 11, consisted principally of yellow mums. About twenty auto- mobiles for the escort were decorated with the same flowers, two big sprays to each machine. November 16 will be the first anni- versary of B. M. Joseph's flower shop, on Grant avenue, and arrangements are being made to celebrate in a fitting manner the end of a highly successful year. A. 0. Stein had several decorations in the Palace hotel last week.
