The bright blue early spring flowers of Chionodoxa luciliae or Glory of the Snow. This species found in gardens is now actually thought to be C. forbesii rather than true luciliae which has a more lax habit and became C. gigantea. The small bulbous plant is suitable for rockeries or naturalizing in wooded areas. Image taken in photographer's own garden.
