Hartlib's 'Legacie' (1651), title page. This book on husbandry was written by German-English polymath Samuel Hartlib (). The full title is 'Samuel Hartlib, his Legacy, or an Enlargement of the Discourse of Husbandry used in Brabant and Flanders'. The reference to the Commonwealth of England refers to the period from 1649 when England was ruled as a republic. Brabant and Flanders cover areas that are today in the Netherlands and Belgium. Hartlib corresponded extensively with farmers and worked to spread Dutch agricultural practices to England. The bottom half of the text consists of quotes from biblical psalms. Details of the London printers are at bottom.
