Dortmund/Germany, 2016. The supposedly largest free-standing advent calendar from 30 ship containers will be erected on Nov. 11th 2016 in Dortmund/Germany in front of the Protestant Petrikirche. The Advent Calendar is 15 x 13 meters in size and has a total weight of 64 tonnes. From December 1th onwards, a Christmas child will open a door every day at 17:30 from above a lifter. The association "Kinderlachen" (Children´s Laugh) has won Dortmund companies as sponsors for container "purchase", whose money runs into the aid projects of the association.
