Laser sintering manufacturing. Laser being used to produce metal objects by sintering, a form of 3D additive manufacturing (3D printing). Sintering involves heating a powder (here, metal) at a temperature below its melting point until the particles of the powder adhere to each other to form a solid object. The heat is often applied with a laser beam, guided by a computer, allowing complex 3D structures to be produced.
