Sculpture by Gilbert W. BAYES , , (1872 - 4 April 1952). Bayes designed many medals and trophies, including the Great Seal of King George V, the Seagrave Trophy, also the Great Clock at Selfridges Department Store in London, the stone relief of sporting figures (1934) outside Lord's Cricket ground and various War memorials. He wrote 'Modelling for Sculpture: A Book for the Beginner' (1930). He was elected an HRI, 1918, and was awarded the RBS medal in 1935. From 1939-44, he served as President of the Royal Society of British Sculptors (1938-43).
