View NE of Cae Coch Late Iron Age platform settlement (centre) & Bronze Age standing stone (R) on the S slopes of Tal y Fan overlooking the Vale of Conwy, North Wales. The remains of circular huts stand at the rear of an oval platform cut into the hillside & enclosed by a stony bank. Just downslope of the stone is a prehistoric & Roman trackway marked by a post-Medieval field wall. The trackway is part of the Roman road from Segontium (Caernarfon) to Canovium (Caerhun) in the Conwy Valley. The stone may have served as a prehistoric route marker &/or marked a burial in prominent sight of the routeway.
