F- Dupuis presiding, the question of the Quebec Lien Law was discussed. The members are of the opinion that the law does not sufficiently protect their in- terests, that it exposes them to risks which are unfair in the way of supplying materials, and that steps should be taken by the Associa- tion to obtain amendments which Avill give fuller protection. The members also discussed the relations between wholesalers and retailers, especially in connection with sales to consumers by wholesalers. The discussion arose out of a letter from the Montreal Wholesalers' Association on the subject of proposals which are being considered by the wholesale and retail Associations. This letter was referred to a committee. It may be mentioned that the speakers re- ferred with satisfaction to the fact that both Associations are getting together in order to settle questions in a way \vhich it was hoped would be mutually satisfactory. J. A. Laferte, J. P. Dupuis and R. Prefontaine have been elected members of the Mines and Forests Committee of the Montreal Cham- bre de Commerce.
