Kakhovka water reservoir in Zaporizhzhia region, Ukraine.
The Kakhovka artificial water reservoir was created by the Soviet authorities in the early 50es having destroyed a unique Ukrainian ecosystem. Naturally grown oasis in the South of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhia region with many villages, pastures, small rivers, lawns and meadows, trees all went under water after the construction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant. It was the real disaster caused by the soviet power to Ukraine. Now when russians invaded Ukraine part of its territory is occupied. After the russians blew up the Kakhovka dam the water reservoir dried up by letting the water out into the Black Sea and now it is again vast and open dry land that presumably will turn into green oasis back historic artifacts can be found in this place. This is the recent historic picture that shows what this artificial lake looked like and how much water was in it before the Kakhovka dam had been blown up.
