Shy Albatross Thalassarche cauta mate for life and greet each other formally after a period of time absent from each other. Beak clacking is one method used to reinstate this bond at one of three breeding colonies in southern Australia. The shy albatross in listed on the IUCN Red List as threatened primarily due to the results from international fishing practices
