The South Carolina National Guard conducted a deployment ceremony, April 20, recognizing the deployment of approximately 50 Soldiers and eight UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters from the 1-111th GSAB to the Sinai Peninsula, in support of the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) peacekeeping mission. The MFO’s overarching mission is to supervise and monitor the implementation of the security provisions of the Egyptian-Israeli Treaty of Peace, as well as contribute to preventing any violations of the treaty.
