An Aveling & Porter 4nhp Showmans Tractor 'Southern Queen' - built 1913, registration No: D7079, Works No: 7899. It is pictured here on the left at the Wiston Steam Rally in West Sussex. Essex County Council took this engine as a light haulage tractor. The engine was used in both world wars, being taken over to Flanders to move supplies in WW1 and then at Hunsdon Aerodrome in Hertfordshire in WW2. The Southern Queen attends most of the rallies held in the South-East and is currently owned by the Claude Jessett Trust Co, Hadlow Down, East Sussex.
