"Rhine Province monument commemorating Kaiser Wilhelm I on Deutsches ECK (strip of land between Rhine and Moselle). Designed by Architect Professor Bruno Schmits and sculptor Professor Hundrieser, unveiled on Aug. 31, 1897. Monument features a 46-foot high statue of the Emperor in a general's uniform, accompanied by a winged genius. The front displays verses from Max von Sehenkendorf's poem."
