Another method is to cover the plants with boards or slats. In three or four weeks they will be blanched. After a shower the boards must be taken off or the plants untied, to allow drying. Dreer's Giant A strong-grow- ing variety with a large white heart and broad stems; good for fall and winter. On account of the beautifully curled leaves this variety is used freely for garnishing Pkt., 10 cts.; oz., 25 cts.; i lb., 75 cts. Green Curled Winter. Standard sort for fall and winter crop.
