The German First World War cemetery of Vladslo on the Belgium Salient


The image is of the German Military Cemetery at Vladlso in Belgium, the main feature being the brooding parents mourning the death of their son Peter Kollwitz who lies buried in front of them. When Hitler visited during WWII he wanted the statues removed as they were disrespectful to the fighting spirit of the German graves are marked with the names of 20 soldiers to each site. Plus a number of private memorials.
