Mr. Eckdahl was born in Helsing-borg, Sweden, September 6, 1869,came to the United States in 1888,and settled in Council Bluffs, arrived in Los Angeles in De-cember, 1895, and has resided hereever since ; became the publisher andbusiness manager of the CaliforniaJournal, was appointed a deputy inthe city and county assessors of-fice for seven years and has been inReal Estate and Insurance businessfor the past ten years. He is one of the organizers of theSwedish-American National Leagueof Los Angeles and has been itspresident for two terms; is a mem-ber of different local, fraternal andcommercial organizations and hasbeen the chairman of the board oftrustees for the Swedish Lutheranchurch for a number of years. has always been greatly in-terested in anything concerning thewelfare of the Swedish Colony andhas frequently been a leader and sup-porter of different Swedish under-takings in Los A
