Early morning view of Richmond Bridge looking downstream through to White Cross Inn and Richmond Riverside behind


This was shot early in the morning, upstream from Richmond Bridge. The bridge is the oldest in Greater London being opened in 1777 and was designed by architects James Paine and Kenton Couse. It was built on the line of the original ferry. The bridge has 13 arches. The five river arches being built of stone and the remainder of brick. The bridge was widened between 1937 and 1939.
