Inpolitics Mr. Rosebrooks is a Republican, but hislife is too busy to permit him to accept office. Heis, and for several years has been, the sexton ofMansfield cemetery, which is near his home. Thefamily attend the Congregational Church, of whichMr. Rosebrooks is a liberal supporter. His ac-quaintance is large, and he is universally esteemed. James Chapman, the grandfather of Mrs. Rose-brooks, was born in 1775, and was brought up inAshford, Conn. In 1831 he located in Mansfield,on our subjects present farm, and resided there therest of his life, dying in i860. He married LucyWhitney, who was born in Eastford, Conn., anddied March 3, 1879. The children of this marriagewere: Mary Ann, born in 1807, married John.
