Being accessible to the largest vessels, it possesses naturalfacilities for the shipment of lumber, which add greatly to the trade and importance of the miles above Chicoutimi is Lake St. John, a fine body of water, fifty miles long and nearlyas wide, reached by a good road. Though fed by eleven large rivers, its waters find their onlyoutlet through the channel of the majestic CHICOUTIMI—SAGUENAY RIVER. ROME, WATERTOIVN AND OGDENSBURG RAILROAD.
