Female.—Length , width ; very similar to male, but with dark areas smaller. General color yellowish to brownish, dark- ened with fuscous; head yellowish with bases of juga, and broad mark on frons either side of median line, black; pronotum brownish, a broad black line at either lateral margin and a black ray behind callus on either side of pale median line; hemelytra rather uniformly fusco-brownish; hind fe- mora with very dark brown bands before apices, anterior face more or less black on apical half. Food Plant.—^Black willow {Salix nigra). Known Distribution.—Illinois, Michi- gan, New York, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Pennsylvania. Illinois Records.—Eleven males and 11 females, taken June 3 to July 5, are from Champaign, Chicago, Grand Detour, Homer, Kampsville, Keithsburg, Mount Carmel, Rockford, Urbana, Warsaw, White Heath.
