The predominant color of the eyeground is dull gray, every-where sprinkled with minute, white dots that are more clearly seenabove the superior termination of the optic nerve and to the nasalside of the pecten. The long optic disc is white, with a few tiny pigment dots aboutits margins. The pecten is lighter brown than in the majority ofbirds; it is very large, almost hiding the disc from view.
