SARDINIA, ITALY - (Oct. 12, 2018) – Marines with the Force Reconnaissance Det. of Battalion Landing Team 3/1, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), and members of the 1st Regiment San Marco Brigade Italian Landing Force depart the Italian San Giorgio-class amphibious transport dock ship San Giusto for a ship-to-shore amphibious assault during exercise Mare Aperto, Oct. 12, 2018. Mare Aperto is designed to improve combined combat capability, increase operational capacity, and strengthen relationships among exercise participants.
