Debre Birhan, Amhara, Ethiopia, October 2013 Yeshiye Gebbo, 55, prepares to cook injera made from fermented barley flour on her fuel efficient stove bought a subsidised price of 55 birr from the SUNARMA project. She and her husband have had Tree Aid training on environmental conservation, “We and our neighbours have planted many trees – now indigenous species are coming back. They protect us from the strong winds we have here. "I have a fuel efficient stove, it cuts down on smoke and takes less wood. We have a hectare of land where we grow wheat, beans, barley, and some vegetables. We also have one cow and ten sheep”.
