AFTER years of experimenting and comparing, we have secured what we consider the best strain of Snowball Cauli- flower, and as such, we this year give it the position of prominence in our Catalogue which its merit deserves. The photograph above shows one dozen heads grown from our Seed by Baker Bros., of Englewood, and were photographed Sept. 11th, 1897. The weight of the twelve heads trimmed for market was eighty pounds, and an idea of the splendid size of each head may be seen in the picture, which shows that four heads take up nearly as much space as the breadth of three large sized men. Cauliflower heads as good as these often bring $ per dozen on the Chicago market, and the dozen shown in the picture rep- resents a fair average of the whole crop grown by the Baker's last season. We have sold this Cauliflower Seed to the Baker Bros, and other large Cauliflower growers for four seasons and it has been compared with all the other strains each season, and it has invari- ably shown that it possesses points of superiority over any other stock. It matters not what may be claimed for other strains of Early Snowball Cauliflower, results speak louder than words, and when men who have been successful Cauliflower growers for more than a quarter of a cen- tury give unsolicited praise to a variety, and others take the trouble to have a photograph made of a box of the heads and present it to the man who sells them the seed, it proves that the seed in question has given results.
