It was voted that a gold medal be offered on behalf of the society at the great Inter- national Flower Show in London in May next for the best display of roses of American origin in pots. J. K. M. L. The hall rentals are gradu- ally increasing, being $2,800 more in 1911 than in 1910. The reports of the plant, fruit, vegetable and other com- mittees were read or ordered printed. William Thatcher, gardener to Mrs. J. L. Gardner, and Martin Sullivan, gardener to William Whitman, each had a splendid lot of cyclamens at Horticul- tural hall January 6, which were award- ed gratuities. The opening lecture of the winter course will be given at Horticultural hall January 13 at 2 p. m., by R, W. Stimson, of Boston, on "Vocational Agricultural ; Various Notes.
